Welcome to the Irish Brain Tumour Support Group website

The purpose of this website is to serve as a reference for people in need of support, or those who are interested in the activities of the Irish Brain Tumour Support Group.

The Irish Brain Tumour Support Group has been established for over 25 years and with three support groups based in Dublin, Cork and Galway, where Cancer Care West provide support.

Support Groups

Each support group meets on a monthly basis and provides emotional support and information to individuals diagnosed with brain tumours and their families. The  Support Groups are community based and were set up by people with brain tumours and their families. The support groups are currently supported by various health care professionals.

The Dublin  Group was set up in 1990. This was followed by the Cork group in 2002 and shortly thereafter the Western Region support group which has now become part of Cancer Care West Support Services. Each provides group based support and where required, one-to-one support.

Cancer Care West also provides an outreach service to people with a brain tumour and their family in counties in the West of Ireland.

The Irish Brain Tumour Support Group is affiliated to the Irish Cancer Society.
